Ka Hikitia - Managing for Success
Te Marautanga o Aotearoa is the Māori medium curriculum, which outlines what students will learn through the medium of Māori language. The curriculum is founded on the Treaty of Waitangi, and is expressed through the vision of students achieving their full potential.
The aim of the curriculum is to set the direction for teaching and learning in the Māori medium sector. It is designed to retain/revitalise Māori language, and it acknowledges Māori cultural identity, thus reflecting the spirit of Ka Hikitia.
In the implementation of the curriculum, whānau, hapū and iwi work together with kura (schools) to ensure that students can fulfil their potential, and can actively contribute to New Zealand society.
