Te Aho Arataki Marau mō te Ako i te Reo Māori – Kura Auraki are the curriculum guidelines for the teaching and learning of Māori language in English medium schools (years 1-13).
The guidelines include information on the importance of learning Māori, regional variations, the inquiry process, communicative language teaching, assessment, and engaging whānau. They also outline broad proficiency target statements covering the eight levels of the curriculum, with the corresponding achievement objectives.
