Successful home school partnership

This research project was conducted in 2007 to enhance our understanding of what constitutes a successful home-school partnership, and how such partnerships can operate in different school settings.

The project had two components. The first was a literature review, while the second was based on seven New Zealand school case studies (including one kura). For the case studies, interviews were conducted with principals, parents, teachers and students. In addition, schools were asked to provide relevant data, showing how home-school partnerships had impacted positively on students’ presence, engagement and achievement (as articulated in Ka Hikitia).
